‘Trial and Error’ Episode Guide (March 21): A Suspect Turns Up in a Coma

“The Other Man” (03/21/17; 9:00-9:30PM) – After coming up bust on a match to the DNA found in Larry’s (John Lithgow) bedroom, Josh (Nicholas D’Agosto) and his team discover a “sex print” on the wall that leads to a shocking new suspect. Meanwhile, Josh gets sloppy and inadvertently gives a piece of damning evidence to the Prosecution.

“An Unwelcome Distraction” (03/21/17; 9:30-10:00PM) – When the new suspect turns up in a coma, Josh (Nicholas D’Agosto) becomes sidetracked trying to solve this crime, eventually becoming a suspect himself.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Carol Anne Keane (Jayma Mays) presents Margaret Henderson’s autopsy report that reveals Larry’s (John Lithgow) wife was struck by a blunt object, leading to a frantic search for the murder weapon.

In the spirit of true-crime documentaries, this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy “Trial & Error” centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto), who heads to a tiny Southern town for his first big case. His mission? To defend an eccentric “rollercizing” poetry professor (John Lithgow) accused of the bizarre murder of his beloved wife. Settling into his makeshift office behind a taxidermy shop and meeting his quirky team of local misfits, Josh suspects that winning his first big case will not be easy, especially when his client is always making himself look guilty.

The cast also includes Jayma Mays, Sherri Shepherd, Steven Boyer and Krysta Rodriguez.

Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller serve as writers and executive producers. Jeffrey Blitz directs and also serves as an executive producer. “Trial & Error” is produced by Barge Productions and Good Session Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
