‘The Talk’ Episode Guide (April 17): The Legendary Oprah Winfrey Visits

On today’s all-new episode of “The Talk” on CBS, esteemed broadcaster, producer, actress and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey sits down for the entire show with hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood today.

During her first visit to the show, Winfrey will discuss her new HBO film, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” The film is told through the eyes of Deborah Lacks (played by Winfrey) who learns about the mother she never knew, Henrietta Lacks, and how the unauthorized harvesting of her mother’s cancerous cells in 1951 led to unprecedented medical breakthroughs that changed the face of medicine forever.

Also, she will talk about her new role as a special correspondent on the #1 news broadcast on television, “60 Minutes,” on CBS and share intimate stories from behind the scenes of her award-winning talk show of 25 years, “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show “The Talk” features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler.

The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform as well as how-to demos, real-world advice and tips from the leading experts in fitness, diet, health, home, relationships, finance and fashion. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.

“The Talk” airs live on weekdays from 2:00-3:00PM EST on CBS in most markets.
