‘The Middle’ Episode Guide (Nov. 21): Sue Has Trouble Sleeping

“Eyes Wide Open” (11/21/17) – Axl heads to Chicago to visit Hutch for the weekend but discovers that his friend, who has his own apartment and a job, is now acting more like a responsible adult than the free-spirited college student he once knew.

Meanwhile, Sue’s excitement over having the apartment to herself over the weekend turns to horror when she is unable to sleep after watching “Silence of the Lambs”; and Brick enlists Frankie and Mike’s aid to help convince Lilah, a new student who doesn’t know anyone at school yet, that she and Brick would make a cute couple, on “The Middle,” TUESDAY, NOV. 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

Guest starring in this episode are Brenna D’Amico as Lilah, Brock Ciarlelli as Brad Bottig, Alphonso McAuley as Hutch, Noah Baron as male partygoer, Ashley Dulaney as female partygoer and Amos Blackmon as male partygoer 2.

“Eyes Wide Open” was written by Rich Dahm and directed by Jaffar Mahmood.

After almost a decade on the air, the current ninth season of ABC’s critically acclaimed fan-favorite series “The Middle” will be its final one. Two-time Emmy-winner Patricia Heaton stars in this warm and witty single-camera comedy about raising a family and lowering your expectations.

Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck is a harried wife and mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor to get her family through each day intact. Frankie works as a dental assistant, and her unflappable husband, Mike, is manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average – yes, most definitely average – family.

“The Middle” stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie, Neil Flynn as Mike, Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue and Atticus Shaffer as Brick.
