‘The Goldbergs’ Episode Guide (Dec. 13): The Battle of the Best Hanukkah Party Begins

“We Didn’t Start the Fire” Season 5 Fall Finale (12/13/17) – When Erica tells Beverly she is going to spend the first night of Hanukkah with Geoff and his family, Beverly worries and starts a competition for who hosts the best Hanukkah party.

Meanwhile, Barry seeks advice from Pops on how to be cool and suggests entering into the school’s talent show. However, when Pops hears Barry sing, he tries to stop him from performing, but will it be too late? – on “The Goldbergs,” airing as part of Disney|ABC’s special “25 Days of Christmas” programming event, WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

Guest starring in this episode are Tim Meadows as Mr. Glascott, Kevin Heffernan as Doc, Noah Munck as Naked Rob, Matt Bush as Andy Cogan, Shayne Topp as Matt Bradley, Sean Marquette as Johnny Atkins, Ken Lerner as Lou Schwartz, Rowan Blanchard as Jackie, Lily Donaghue as Jamie Weisman and Mindy Sterling as Linda Schwartz.

“We Didn’t Start the Fire” was written by Daisy Gardner and directed by Jay Chandrasekhar.

The VCR-loving, mixtape-making, spandex-wearing Goldbergs are back! For geeky and movie obsessed youngest child Adam (Sean Giambrone), his wonder years were spent documenting the hilarious and awkward antics of his colorful family. Mom Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is at her best when she’s meddling, matchmaking and bedazzling her way through life, while Dad Murray (Jeff Garlin) parents from the comfort of his recliner in his underpants.

Oldest sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) dreams of being a pop star if she can only overcome her secret love of all things uncool. Then there’s middle child Barry (Troy Gentile) who’s just as in touch with his emotions as he is with his sick rap skills, which is how he landed Erica’s best friend and the hottest girl in school, Lainey (AJ Michalka), as his girlfriend.

Rounding out the brood is beloved grandfather Al “Pops” Solomon (George Segal), the wild man of the clan, a shameless Don Juan who enjoys family time with his grandkids almost as much as his weekly massages. This season finds the siblings fighting off huggies, snuggies and nubbies, as they navigate what it means to grow up as a Goldberg.

“The Goldbergs” stars Wendi McLendon-Covey (“Bridesmaids”) as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswalt (“Ratatouille”) as adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Troy Gentile (“Good Luck Chuck”) as Barry Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia (“The X Factor”) as Erica Goldberg, Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz, with George Segal (“Just Shoot Me”) as Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlin (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Murray Goldberg.
