‘The Goldbergs’ Episode Guide (April 27): Behind the Scenes Footage and Outtakes

“An 80s Rewind” (04/27/16) – Hilarious behind-the-scenes footage and outtakes from the hit ABC comedy “The Goldbergs” will be featured in an all-new special, “The Goldbergs: An 80s Rewind,” airing WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network.

Highlights include insightful interviews with cast members Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, George Segal, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and AJ Michalka as they discuss their characters and the real-life inspirations of the family.

Plus, the cast talks about the decade that defines the series and what made the 1980s so special. Also, Sean Giambrone gives an exclusive tour of “The Goldbergs” set, including showcasing the props that are used in many of the episodes, including some from creator Adam F. Goldberg’s personal collection. Never before seen bloopers are also shown.

The VCR-loving, mixtape-making, spandex-wearing Goldbergs are back! For geeky and movie obsessed youngest child Adam (Sean Giambrone), his wonder years were spent documenting the hilarious and awkward antics of his colorful family.

Mom, Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is at her best when she’s meddling, matchmaking and bedazzling her way through life, while Dad, Murray (Jeff Garlin), parents from the comfort of his recliner in his underpants. Oldest sister, Erica (Hayley Orrantia), dreams of being a Pop Star if she can only overcome her secret love of all things uncool. Then there’s middle child, Barry (Troy Gentile), who’s just as in touch with his emotions as he is with his sick rap skills, which is how he landed Erica’s best friend and the hottest girl in school, Lainey (AJ Michalka) as his girlfriend.

Rounding out the brood is beloved grandfather, Al “Pops” Solomon (George Segal), the wild man of the clan, a shameless Don Juan who enjoys family time with his grandkids almost as much as his weekly massages. This season finds the siblings fighting off huggies, snuggies, and nubbies as they navigate what it means to grow up as a Goldberg.

“The Goldbergs” stars Wendi McLendon-Covey (“Bridesmaids”) as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswalt (“Ratatouille”) as adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Troy Gentile (“Good Luck Chuck”) as Barry Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia (“The X Factor”) as Erica Goldberg, AJ Michalka as Lainey Lewis (Super 8), with George Segal (“Just Shoot Me”) as Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlin (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Murray Goldberg.

“The Goldbergs” was written by Adam F. Goldberg (“Breaking In,” “Fanboys”). Executive producers are Adam F. Goldberg, Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Marc Firek, David Katzenberg and David Guarascio. “The Goldbergs” is produced by Adam Sandler and Doug Robinson’s Happy Madison TV and Adam F. Goldberg Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.
