‘The Fosters’ Episode Guide (July 25): Callie and Aaron Go on Their First Date

“Contact” (07/25/17) – Callie and Aaron go on their first official date. Mariana and Jude spearhead an underground school newspaper. Noah and Jude question their compatibility, while Brandon and Grace take their relationship to the next level. The moms have their new neighbors over for a family dinner party.

“The Fosters” is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of adopted and biological teenaged kids being raised by two moms. Stef Adams Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her wife, Lena Adams Foster, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon; their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus; and adopted siblings, Jude and his half-sister Callie.

The new season picks up immediately from the dramatic cliffhanger finale with Jesus knocked out by Mariana’s ex-boyfriend Nick and Callie trapped in the car with Troy Johnson, who she fears is the true killer of Martha Johnson. Jesus is rushed to the hospital and into surgery, his family anxiously waiting to hear about the extent of his injury. Stef and Lena become so wrapped up with Jesus’ situation that they don’t learn that Callie is in trouble until it’s too late. Mariana must deal with her role in Jesus’ injury, while Brandon dreads telling Stef and Mike that he has lost his chance to attend Juilliard. Despite getting in trouble for smoking pot, Jude will continue to date Noah and consider having sex for the first time. Stef works toward making detective, while Lena ends up having to take a leave of absence from her job. Mike will take his relationship with Ana to the next level, asking her to move in with him and his foster son AJ. This season will include guest appearances by Annie Potts, Kerr Smith and Rob Morrow.

Winner of a Television Academy Honors Award and GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series, “The Fosters” is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, (“Shades of Blue,” “American Idol,” “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”) and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (“Queer As Folk”), who also serve as executive producers and writers, along with Joanna Johnson (“Make It or Break It”).

“The Fosters” stars Teri Polo (“Meet the Parents”) as Stef Adams Foster, Sherri Saum (“In Treatment”) as Lena Adams Foster, Hayden Byerly (“Parenthood”) as Jude Adams Foster, Noah Centineo (“How to Build a Better Boy”) as Jesus Adams Fosters, David Lambert (“Aaron Stone”) as Brandon Foster, Maia Mitchell (“Teen Beach Movie”) as Callie Adams Foster, Danny Nucci (“Titanic”) as Mike Foster and Cierra Ramirez (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”) as Mariana Adams Foster.

Greg Gugliotta, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Nuyorican Productions, Inc. in association with Freeform.
