‘The Carmichael Show’ Episode Guide (May 31): Jerrod and Maxine Debate Assault

“Yes Means Yes” Season 3 Premiere (05/31/17; 9:00-9:30PM) – When Maxine’s friend makes a social media post about her sexual assault, Jerrod and Maxine find themselves on opposite sides of the issue, which leads to a family debate about consent that ultimately sends Bobby into a spiral.

“Support the Troops” (05/31/17; 9:30-10:00PM) – When Jerrod (Jerrod Carmichael) gets into a fight with a soldier in front of Joe (David Alan Grier) and Bobby (Lil Rel Howery), Joe’s desire to make it up to the soldier causes problems that test the limits of what it means to truly support the troops. Also starring Loretta Devine, Amber Stevens West and Tiffany Haddish.

From the comedy of Jerrod Carmichael and Nick Stoller (“Neighbors”) comes an irreverent sitcom inspired by Jerrod’s relationships with his say-anything contrarian father, therapist-in training girlfriend, ever-hustling brother and mother, who is always, always, always right with Jesus.

Taking the next step and moving in together, Jerrod and his girlfriend, Maxine (Amber Stevens West), are your average young couple trying to make it in the city. They’re smart, motivated and looking to build a fulfilling life together. The only thing standing in their way is family. Between Jerrod’s larger-than-life brother, Bobby (Lil Rel Howery), and his smothering and passionate parents (David Alan Grier, Loretta Devine), Jerrod and Maxine will be put to the test navigating the boundaries of romance, family and sanity.

Jerrod Carmichael, Nick Stoller and Ravi Nandan serve as executive producers. “The Carmichael Show” is co-produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Universal Television.
