‘Speechless’ Episode Guide (Jan. 17): Maya Launches Her Own School

“D-I– DIMEO A-C– ACADEMY” (01/17/18) – After a dust-up with Lafayette High, Maya runs to JJ’s rescue and launches her own school out of the DiMeo home. Her program becomes a true DiMeo affair when Ray and Dylan enroll and Jimmy joins the faculty.

Meanwhile, Kenneth sets out to prove to his ex-wife that he’s living a successful life, on “Speechless,” airing WEDNESDAY, JAN. 17 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EST) on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

Guest starring in this episode are Marin Hinkle as Dr. Miller, Tamala Jones as Robin and Jay Chandrasekhar as Coach.

“D-I – DIMEO A-C–ACADEMY” was written by Danny Chun & Matt Roller. It was directed by Tristam Shapeero.

Maya DiMeo is the mom who will do anything for her husband, Jimmy, and kids Ray, Dylan, and JJ, her eldest son with cerebral palsy. In Season 2 of this amusing and often unexpected comedy, the family along with JJ’s aide, Kenneth, are reunited after JJ’s first-time summer camp adventure.

As we move into the new school year, the DiMeos, who have always been on the search to find the right school support for JJ, are faced with a new and unfamiliar reality. The DiMeo kids are going to continue at the same school! This is unchartered territory for the DiMeos but, as always, they will find a fun balance in everything they do while adjusting to the concept of becoming actual members of a community.

“Speechless” stars Minnie Driver as Maya DiMeo, John Ross Bowie (“The Big Bang Theory”) as Jimmy DiMeo, Mason Cook as Ray DiMeo, Micah Fowler as JJ DiMeo, Kyla Kenedy as Dylan DiMeo and Cedric Yarbrough as Kenneth.
