‘Speechless’ Episode Guide (April 26): JJ’s Runaway Attempt Gets Maya’s Attention

“R-U-N–RUNAWAY” (04/26/17) – When Maya learns JJ attempted to run away, she is determined to help him complete the task as any able-bodied person could, but her actions exasperate JJ, as he longs for independence.

Meanwhile, Jimmy struggles to have hard talks with the kids without Maya, and Dylan tries to get Kenneth to revive his glory days as a high school sports star, on “Speechless,” WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26 (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.

Guest starring in this episode are Zach Anner as Lee, Patrick Faucette as Dealer, Brigitte Valdez as Girlfriend and Forte Rodriguez as Security Guard.

“R-U-N–RUNAWAY” was written by Mark Kunerth and directed by Claire Scanlon.

Maya DiMeo (Minnie Driver, “About a Boy,” “The Riches,” “Good Will Hunting”) is a mom on a mission who will do anything for her husband, Jimmy, and kids Ray, Dylan, and JJ, her eldest son with cerebral palsy. As Maya fights injustices both real and imagined, the family works to make a new home for themselves and searches for just the right person to give JJ his “voice.”

“Speechless” stars Minnie Driver as Maya DiMeo, John Ross Bowie (“The Big Bang Theory”) as Jimmy DiMeo, Mason Cook as Ray DiMeo, Micah Fowler as JJ DiMeo, Kyla Kenedy as Dylan DiMeo and Cedric Yarbrough as Kenneth. Guest starring are Marin Kinkle as Dr. Miller, Paul Bates as Older Cop, Darcy Shean a Fancy Woman, Daniel Zolghadri as Carter, Dina Spybey-Waters as Jennifer, Cyrus Deboo as Administrator, Skyler James as Kid, Jonathan Slavin as Mr. Powers, Jay Chandrasekhar as Coach, Lukita Maxwell as Jillian and Daniel Nelson as Zane.

Scott Silveri (“Friends”) writes and is executive producer of the show, along with “Fresh Off the Boat”’s Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar. The series is from Twentieth Century Fox Television and ABC Studios.
