‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ Episode Guide (Dec. 17): President Obama Treks Through Alaska

“President Barack Obama” Special Presentation (12/17/15) – In a historic special edition of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls,” Bear takes President Barack Obama on an adventure in the Alaskan wilderness.

We will see the Commander in Chief as we’ve never seen before, as the two men traverse a dense forest and walk across a glacial outwash at Alaska’s famed Exit Glacier, where they observe the remarkable effects of climate change first hand.

From wild salmon and catkins tea made with melting glacial water to s’mores, Bear gives the President a true taste of Alaska. Their off-the-script chat reveals the President’s thoughts on his official duties, family life at the White House, parenthood and his own faith.

Famed adventurer and survivalist Bear Grylls returns for a second season of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”

In this hourlong alternative series, Grylls will take eight entertainment and sports stars into the most remote and pristine locations in the U.S. and around the world for a 48-hour journey of a lifetime.

Joining the renown survivalist for season two are Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, Oscar nominee Kate Hudson, Super Bowl-winning QB Drew Brees, Emmy nominee and “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, “Hangover” star Ed Helms, “Furious 7” star Michelle Rodriguez, and award-winning film and television actors James Marsden (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Michael B. Jordan (“Fantastic Four”).

Each of these eight accomplished actors and athletes will partner with Grylls for two days for a one-on-one adventure they will not soon forget.

This season the series will take viewers from the jungles of Panama and the far reaches of the Italian Alps and then to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and Utah’s Red Rocks. The intrepid cast members will face their deepest fears and tackle everything from skydiving to repelling as they journey through some of the world’s most unforgiving wildernesses.
Pushing their minds and bodies to the limit to complete their journey, they will experience the excitement of being dropped into uncharted territory and tackling the wilderness head-on, which will be daunting and draining, but also very empowering.

The show was devised by Grylls and Delbert Shoopman. Grylls recently starred on the NBC series “Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls” and serves as host and executive producer of “The Island.”

“Running Wild with Bear Grylls” is produced by Electus and Bear Grylls Ventures. Grylls will serve as executive producer along with Ben Silverman, Chris Grant, Laura Caraccioli and Viki Cacciatore.
