‘Raising Asia’ Episode Guide (Aug. 19): Asia Makes Her Dancing and Singing Debut

“What Would Beyonce Do?” (08/19/14; 10:00-10:30PM) – Billy lands Asia a gig opening for a pop star that no one has heard of and things quickly go south once they arrive at venue, only to discover it is a 21 and over nightclub.

While Asia is forced to prepare in a tent in the middle of a parking lot, Anthony capitalizes on Billy’s absence by blaming him for all of the issues which then causes a major rift between Shawn and Kristie.

“Hit the Road” (08/19/14; 10:30-11:00PM) – Asia is heading to Vegas for her singing and dancing debut at Planet Hollywood. Anthony and Billy nearly come to blows as they continue to jockey for control over Asia’s career.

After his missteps with last week’s performance, Billy has to redeem himself in Shawn’s eyes if he wants to stay on the team…and Anthony is skating on thin ice, as well. Who will get the upper hand? And will Shawn finally be ready to fire one of them?

Child prodigy Asia Monet Ray is no stranger to the spotlight and her loyal fan base eagerly follows her every career move. This summer, Lifetime premieres the all-new docuseries “Raising Asia” featuring the child sensation and her mother Kristie, who won’t let anything get in her daughter’s way. The road to fame and success isn’t an easy one but with her mom by her side, Asia’s dreams of becoming a world famous performer are well within reach, at least if Kristie has her say.

Before ever appearing on “Dance Moms” and placing third on season one of “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition,” eight-year-old YouTube sensation Asia Monet had already traveled the world to showcase her singing and dancing talents. In “Raising Asia,” cameras follow the rising star as she strives to take her career to the next level with the help of model mother Kristie, famous record-holding bodybuilder father Shawn and younger sister, Bella Blu, who are there every step of the way to support Asia’s journey to the top.

“Raising Asia” is produced by Collins Avenue, with Jeff Collins (“Dance Moms,” “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition,” “Fly Girls”), Michael Hammond (“Dance Moms,” “Amazing Race”), Sandi Johnson (“Undercover Boss,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition”), Bryan Stinson (“Dance Moms,” “High Society”) and Leola Westbrook (“America’s Next Top Model”) executive producing. Lifetime’s Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Kimberly Chessler also executive produce. 14 half-hour episodes have been ordered for this season.
