Original Telefilm ‘The Perfect Bride’ Premieres Tonight on Hallmark Channel

In the Hallmark original telefilm “The Perfect Bride,” airing tonight at 9/8c, Molly White (Pascale Hutton) is a former marriage counselor turned fitness trainer, who runs very popular “Bridal Boot Camp” classes: combining fitness and yoga with pre-marital counseling to brides and grooms before their big day.

While attending a wedding for a former client, Molly meets Nick Dyson (Kavan Smith), the handsome photographer she connects with while sharing a dance together, only to shockingly discover he is already taken — engaged to a current client of Molly’s: the overbearingly competitive and perfectionist Jenna Tate (Anna Van Hooft).

Hired to take pictures of the fitness studio and Bridal Boot Camp classes to re-vamp its website, Nick is reintroduced to Molly, who awkwardly tries to move forward with him as a client, knowing he is romantically unavailable but continues to show subtle signs of hesitation about his upcoming nuptials. In working closely with Molly, Nick sees in her all the things he wishes he saw in Jenna, and their connection with each other becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.

Molly likes and appreciates that Nick is a photographer – valuing and appreciating his artistic talent – while Jenna seems embarrassed by it, constantly trying to mold him into something he is not. And, as Jenna goes to extreme lengths to secure a one of-a-kind dress, it becomes a competition and obsession for her to plan the best picture-perfect wedding ever. Nick takes notice of this adverse side of her, becoming increasingly unhappy in their relationship.

Meanwhile, Molly is fulfilling her matron of honor duties in helping her little sister Lisa (Leanne Lapp) with her upcoming wedding plans, including having her participate in the Bridal Boot Camp classes as well, and as Molly coaches Lisa and the others in the class on topics like trust and honesty, Molly is struggling with her own marital issues from her past, which continue to haunt her and keep her from moving on. It becomes obvious to Nick – and to Jenna – that in working on Molly’s lessons they need to carefully evaluate their relationship and decide together what is important to each of them before they walk down the aisle and say, “I do.”

But it’s not until Molly realizes in helping couples feel like they deserve happiness and begin their new lives together, that she acknowledges she must first believe that she too not only deserves happiness, but must learn how to forgive herself for the past so she can move forward with life – and a new love – in her future.

“The Perfect Bride” stars Pascale Hutton (Molly White), Kavan Smith (Nick Dyson), Leanne Lapp (Lisa White), Anna Van Hooft (Jenna Tate), Debs Howard (Quinn Arthurs), Alison Araya (Abby Sommers), Kerry James (Rennie) and Mark Dacascos (Daniel Counter).

The film was produced by Vicki Sotheran and Greg Malcolm. Crown Media Family Networks Production is the production credit. “The Perfect Bride” was directed by Martin Wood and written by Rick Garman.

The above press release was issued by Hallmark.
