‘New Girl’ Episode Guide (April 4): Jess Lets Nick Know How She Feels About Him

“Five Stars for Beezus” Season 6 Finale (04/04/17) – Jess is ready to tell Nick of her true feelings for him. Meanwhile, Nick takes a meeting with a book publisher, as Aly helps Winston reconnect with an important person. Then, Cece and Schmidt receive big news in the season finale episode of “New Girl” airing Tuesday, April 4 (8:00-8:31 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NG-619) (TV-14 D, L)

Guest starring in this episode are Nasim Pedrad as Aly, June Diane Raphael as Sadie, Brian Huskey as Merle Streep, and Fred Willard as Beezus

Entering its sixth season, ensemble comedy “New Girl” takes a modern look at friendship and romance, as a group of five friends attempt to find their respective places in the world, while begrudgingly accepting the responsibilities of adulthood – with often hilarious results.

As the series’ fifth season came to a close, the loftmates celebrated the wedding of Schmidt (Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone), as Jess (Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Zooey Deschanel) contemplated her renewed romantic feelings toward Nick (Jake Johnson). Meanwhile, Winston (Lamorne Morris) took his pranking to a whole new level, and found himself stuck in an actual marriage, while also attempting to get his cat, Furguson, into a Hollywood blockbuster and carrying on an new romance with his police partner, ALY (guest star Nasim Pedrad).

In the upcoming season premiere episode, series star Deschanel makes her directorial debut, which finds Nick returning from a summer in New Orleans and Jess throwing herself into a multitude of meaningless hobbies to avoid her conflicted romantic feelings for him. Meanwhile, Schmidt and Cece begin the search for their own house and Winston tries to balance his new long-distance relationship with Aly. Other storylines this season include Jess and Cece campaigning for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Winston teaching Nick the art of phone sex and Nick writing a new novel.

Later this fall, comedy worlds collide when characters from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “New Girl” meet each other in the Big Apple in back-to-back episodes airing Tuesday, Oct. 11 on FOX. Then, in January, Megan Fox returns to “New Girl,” reprising her role as loftmate and Nick’s love interest, Reagan.

Premiering in 2011, “New Girl” has been nominated for five Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards. In its debut season, the series earned a Writers Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Television – New Series; and this past year, received a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Television – Episodic Comedy.

“New Girl” is produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether. Meriwether, Brett Baer, Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope are executive producers, with Meriwether, Baer and Finkel serving as co-showrunners/writers and Kasdan directing multiple episodes of the series.
