‘MasterChef’ Episode Guide (Aug. 2): The Cooks Face an Intense Team Challenge

“Holy Cannoli” (08/02/17) – The “MasterChef” kitchen is transformed into a full dining room, as it welcomes purveyors of the finest local ingredients, ranging from butchers and vegetable farmers, to beekeepers and herb growers.

After splitting into two teams, the home cooks must prepare dishes using the guests’ own ingredients. The purveyors will then vote on which team created a better dish, forcing the losing team to head back to the kitchen for a pressure test, during which they will cook a classic Italian dessert, the cannoli. It is then up to the judges to decide who will head home in an all-new episode of “MasterChef” airing Wednesday, Aug. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Season Eight of the hit cooking competition series “MasterChef” premieres Wednesday, May 31 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. This season, award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay and renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi will be joined by celebrated chef and restaurateur Aarón Sánchez on the judges’ panel, as they put the Top Forty contestants through a series of challenges and elimination rounds, in order to turn one home cook into a culinary master.

This season on “MasterChef,” the home cooks will learn how to prepare live crawfish, cook for and serve 50 VIP guests to celebrate Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino’s 50th anniversary and create a Nutella dish inspired by their childhood, as well as take on the infamous “MasterChef” tag team and restaurant takeover challenges. The winner will claim the title of “MasterChef,” a cookbook deal and the $250,000 grand prize.

“MasterChef” is produced by Endemol Shine North America and One Potato Two Potato, and is based on a format created by Franc Roddam and Endemol Shine. Robin Ashbrook, Elisabeth Murdoch, Eden Gaha, Georgie Hurford-Jones, Gordon Ramsay, Yasmin Shackleton, Patricia Llewellyn and Ben Adler serve as executive producers.
