‘Madam Secretary’ Episode Guide (Nov. 12): Elizabeth and the President Refuses to Negotiate With Terrorists

“Loophole” (11/12/17) – Henry disagrees with the President and Elizabeth when they refuse to negotiate with terrorists for the release of an American CIA agent who was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Also, Elizabeth tries to be supportive of Stevie who is going through a difficult time, on “Madam Secretary,” Sunday, Nov. 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Guest starring in “Loophole” are Johanna Day (Admiral Ellen Hill), Tony Plana (Admiral Ed Parker), Sam Breslin Wright (Dylan Larsen), Ursula Taherian (Nafisa Samadi), Ravi Kapoor (Sameet Akhtar), Carey Van Driest (Gisele Durand), and Judy Rotardier (Maggie).

“Loophole” was written by Moira Kirland and directed by Maggie Greenwal.

CBS’s “Madam Secretary” stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, the shrewd, determined Secretary of State who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home.

A college professor and a brilliant former CIA analyst who left for ethical reasons, Elizabeth returned to public life at the request of President Conrad Dalton, who values McCord’s apolitical leanings, deep knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages and ability to not just think outside the box, but to not even acknowledge there is a box. McCord’s team includes chief of staff Nadine Tolliver; policy advisor Jay Whitman; speechwriter Matt Mahoney; press coordinator Daisy Grant; and charming assistant, Blake Moran.

As McCord debates third world problems, finesses foreign dignitaries at work and does battle with the president’s combative chief of staff, Russell Jackson, that’s just a warm-up for when she goes home to her supportive husband, theology professor turned intelligence operative Henry, and their three children, where “politics” and “compromise” take on new meaning.

“Madam Secretary” stars Téa Leoni (Elizabeth McCord), Tim Daly (Henry McCord), Bebe Neuwirth (Nadine Tolliver), Željko Ivanek (Russell Jackson), Keith Carradine (President Conrad Dalton), Sebastian Arcelus (Jay Whitman), Patina Miller (Daisy Grant), Geoffrey Arend (Matt Mahoney), Erich Bergen (Blake Moran), Kathrine Herzer (Alison McCord), Wallis Currie-Wood (Stephanie “Stevie” McCord), and Evan Roe (Jason McCord).

“Madam Secretary” is produced by CBS Television Studios, in association with Revelations Entertainment. It is executive produced by Barbara Hall, Lori McCreary, David Grae, Eric Stoltz and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman. The series was created by Barbara Hall.
