‘Lucifer’ Episode Guide (May 1): Lucifer Struggles to Regain Trust

“Candy Morningstar” Season 2 Spring Premiere (05/01/17) – Two weeks after Chloe’s near-death, Lucifer has gone off the grid, cutting off all contact from his family and the police department. He materializes just in time to help solve an up-and-coming guitarist’s murder and introduces the department to a ditzy stripper named Candy… a new mystery woman in his life.

While Lucifer’s mom desperately tries to contact her son, Chloe tries to push him away. Lucifer must find a way to prove himself in order to be invited back onto the team in the spring premiere episode of “Lucifer” airing Monday, May 1 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Guest starring in this episode are Lindsey Gort as Candy Morningstar, Jonathan Togo as Anthony Annan, Minni Jo Mazzola as Marla, James Neate as Doug, Kwasi Thomas as Shane, and Felisha Terrell as Courtney Sax.

The Devil has come to Los Angeles…

Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, “Lucifer” takes everything we think we know about the world’s greatest villain and flips it upside down. Bored and unhappy in Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis, “Rush”) abandons his throne and heads to the city of Angels looking for a heck of a good time.

Lucifer is devilishly handsome and charismatic, and he has a talent for drawing out people’s darkest secrets. When the brutal murder of an acquaintance of his attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German, “Chicago Fire”), he is hell-bent on helping her find the perpetrators, and discovers a passion for punishing the guility here on earth. Initially, Chloe is dismissive of Lucifer, but when she sees him in action, she becomes intrigued. But Chloe’s soon-to-be ex-husband and colleague on the police force, Dan (Kevin Alejandro, “True Blood”), is wary of Lucifer’s intentions, especially when their young daughter, Trixie (Scarlett Estevez, “And Then There Was You”), takes a liking to him.

As Lucifer’s interest in Chloe’s cases grows, so does his curiosity about her. Of all the people he’s encountered, she’s the only one who isn’t affected by his devilish ways. And while working with her, for the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him. Compassion? Sympathy? The very thought disturbs him – enough to seek out the guidance of a therapist, Linda (Rachael Harris, “The Hangover”).

Lucifer’s newfound humility infuriates his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt, “The Librarians”), a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. At the same time, the angel Amenadiel (DB Woodside, “Suits,” “24”), has been sent to Los Angeles by God to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld…can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good, or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?

“Lucifer” is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The series is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. Tom Kapinos (“Californication”) wrote and executive-produced the pilot. The series is executive-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer. Kapinos will serve as executive consultant on the series.
