‘LIVE with Kelly’ Episode Guide (May 1): New Permanent Co-Host Announced; Chris Pratt

On today’s all-new episode of the syndicated “LIVE with Kelly,” PJ Ball of the hit NBC competition series “Little Big Shots” visits the program to show off his sport stacking skills. Then, actor Chris Pratt previews the superhero film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which hits theaters nationwide this weekend.

Plus, a year after Michael Strahan left the program for “Good Morning America,” Kelly finally announces her new permanent guest co-host.

Currently in her 15th year with the show, Kelly Ripa took the lead on “LIVE” during the search for a new co-host. Fifty-nine different men and women shared the co-host desk over a nine month period. During that time, she helped to build the show’s key demo ratings and kept the momentum going until a new host was named.

On September 4, 2012, Michael Strahan was named the permanent co-host of the newly-rechristened show after an extensive search encompassing more than nine months. Michael Strahan departed the series for “Good Morning America” in May 2016. A new co-host is expected to be announced this fall.

“LIVE with Kelly” is distributed in national syndication by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Produced by WABC-TV in New York and executive produced by Michael Gelman, “LIVE” airs in more than 200 markets across the U.S.

Michael Gelman, who is often an on-air personality, executive produces the longrunning talker. To watch the syndicated “LIVE with Kelly,” be sure to check your listings for the time period it airs in your local market.
