‘Hawaii Five-0’ Episode Guide (Feb. 2): The Murder of a Private Eye and His Client Investigated

“He puko’a kani ‘aina” (02/02/18) – McGarrett and Danny investigate the murder of a private detective whose client was killed the same way, and Adam sends Jessie (Christine Ko) into a dangerous situation with disastrous consequences.

Also, Danny’s uncle, Vito (Vincent Pastore), comes to town to help Danny and McGarrett get their restaurant up and running, on “Hawaii Five-0,” Friday, Feb. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

(“He puko’a kani ‘aina” is Hawaiian for “A Coral Reef Strengthens Out into Land”)

Guest starring in “He puko’a kani ‘aina” are Daniel Buran (Devin Walsh/Visha Kundahara), Og Libra (Ikko), Sarah Juliette Halford (Nicole), Donovan Oakleaf (Greg Isaacs), Edward Edwards (Kyle Kalani), Julie Alfonso (Huma Kalani), Hudson Taylor (Lifeguard), Miriam Lucien (Nurse), Robert Kaaua (Bodyguard), and Preston Kamauu (Tech).

“He puko’a kani ‘aina” was written by David Wolkove and Matt Wheeler. It was directed by Bryan Spicer.

“Hawaii Five-0” is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town.

Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; and Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate. Helping them is Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job; Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha.

The state’s brash FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.

“Hawaii Five-0” stars Alex O’Loughlin (Steve McGarrett), Scott Caan (Danny “Danno” Williams), Chi McBride (Lou Grover), Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega), and Meaghan Rath (Tani Rey).
