‘Hawaii Five-0’ Episode Guide (Jan. 19): The Corpse of a Diamond Smuggler Stolen From a Graveyard

“Na keiki a Kalaihaohia” (01/19/18) – When the corpse of a diamond smuggler is stolen from a graveyard, Five-0 tracks down his partner, Voss (guest star “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips), who will stop at nothing to retrieve their latest batch of contraband.

Also, Adam recruits a new confidential informant, Jessie Nomura (Christine Ko); Tani gets a devastating call; and McGarrett tasks Pua to find his and Danny’s stolen tools, on “Hawaii Five-0,” Friday, Jan. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

(“Na keiki a Kalaihaohia” is Hawaiian for “The Children of Kalaihoahia”)

Guest starring in “Na keiki a Kalaihaohia” are Misa Tupou (Kapula Sugimoto), Claudio Pinto (Arian Ravello), Walt Gaines (Curtis Rice), Kathleen Stuart (Mrs. Rice), Phillip Phillips (Voss), Ben Wong (Foreman), Gino Montesinos (Owner), Wayne M. Kane (Worker), and Esteban Diaz (Guard).

The teleplay for this episode was written by Eric Guggenheim and directed by Peter Weller.

“Hawaii Five-0” is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town.

Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; and Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate. Helping them is Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job; Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha.

The state’s brash FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.

“Hawaii Five-0” stars Alex O’Loughlin (Steve McGarrett), Scott Caan (Danny “Danno” Williams), Chi McBride (Lou Grover), Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega), and Meaghan Rath (Tani Rey).
