‘Hawaii Five-0’ Episode Guide (Jan. 5): An FBI Agent Who Cracked Down on Organized Crime is Killed

“Ka hopu nui ‘ana” Season 8 Winter Premiere (01/05/18) – When an FBI agent who was cracking down on organized crime is killed, McGarrett rounds up every gang-related criminal on the island to find the culprit. Also, McGarrett tasks Adam with forming a new division within Five-0 to take on organized crime, on “Hawaii Five-0,” Friday, Jan. 5 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

(“Ka hopu nui ‘ana” is Hawaiian for “The Round Up”)

Guest starring in “Ka hopu nui ‘ana” are Nelson Omandam (Officer Ojoa), Kip Pardue (Agent Fischer), Gonzalo Menendez (Agent McNeal), Jon Chaffin (Damien Bautista), Marcelo Palacios (Hector Garcia), Alexandra Hasenbank (Laura Fischer), Lanny Joon (Brandon Kenzo), Guy Orogo (HPD Lieutenant), Merlinda Garma (Assistant), and Bill Maeda (Bodyguard).

“Ka hopu nui ‘ana” was written by David Wolkove and Matt Wheeler. It was directed by Eagle Egilsson.

“Hawaii Five-0” is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town.

Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; and Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate. Helping them is Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job; Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha.

The state’s brash FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.

“Hawaii Five-0” stars Alex O’Loughlin (Steve McGarrett), Scott Caan (Danny “Danno” Williams), Chi McBride (Lou Grover), Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega), and Meaghan Rath (Tani Rey).
