The CBS drama series “Elementary” stars Jonny Lee Miller as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases.

Initially sober companion and client, their relationship evolved into a symbiotic professional investigative partnership, until Holmes chose to end their association and accept a job with MI6 in London. Upon his return, he learned Watson had started her own detective agency and was the NYPD’s primary consultant, working regularly with Captain Thomas Gregson and Detective Marcus Bell.

Also complicating their relationship was Holmes’ enigmatic protégé, Kitty, who helped bring the alienated pair together when they apprehended a deadly adversary from her past. After Holmes’ apprentice departed, the duo strived to repair their partnership and friendship, but separate dangers to both of them challenged their reconciliation.

Watson was unmoored by the murder of her boyfriend at the hands of her criminal nemesis, and Sherlock was subjected to a series of machinations by a former associate that caused him to relapse, ending three years of sobriety. Now, Holmes and Watson must rely upon one another to rebuild their lives, while also enduring the return of Sherlock’s estranged father, Morland Holmes.

“Elementary” stars Jonny Lee Miller (Sherlock Holmes), Lucy Liu (Joan Watson), Aidan Quinn (Captain Thomas Gregson), Jon Michael Hill (Detective Marcus Bell) and John Noble (Morland Holmes).

“Elementary” is produced by CBS Television Studios. The series is executive produced by Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, John Polson and Jason Tracey.
