The following is a synopsis of today’s episode of CBS Television Distribution’s “Dr. Phil Show.” To watch, be sure to check local listings for the time period in your market.

Chris says he thought he had a strong bond with his adopted daughter, Lynn, 17, until just two months ago, when he says she told an unthinkable lie that ripped apart their once-tight family. Lynn claims Chris molested and raped her three times — twice at 9 and again at 12 – allegations that Chris adamantly denies.

Lynn’s mother, Mandi, says her daughter has a history of lying, and she supports her husband. What does she say happened recently that caused the bad blood between Chris and Lynn? Chris says he feels like he’s the “pariah of the neighborhood” and fears he could end up in jail for a serious crime he didn’t commit.

Is this just a rebellious teenager caught up in a lie she can’t get out of, or is Chris guilty of the unthinkable? Tune in for Part 2 tomorrow, when one guest makes a shocking confession!

Originally launched in the fall of 2002 to the highest ratings of any new syndicated show since the launch of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” 16 years prior, “Dr. Phil” is enjoyed by millions of viewers nationally in 212 markets, covering 100 percent of the country.Additionally, “Dr. Phil” is licensed to nearly 50 territories and countries worldwide.

McGraw’s success stems from his signature “get real” approach to helping his guests solve their problems, stripping through their emotional clutter, helping them to get down to the bare bones of their issues and giving them the challenge they need to move ahead. McGraw champions those who suffer from such silent epidemics as domestic violence, child abuse, depression, racism, substance abuse and other health issues that are prevalent in society, but go largely undiscussed by their victims.

While McGraw will continue with the topics and themes that have made the show number one, he will introduce some tech new features to the show. This season, a select group of viewers will be able to watch the show’s taping and contribute with real-time tweets, instant comments and even talk-back with the host.

Emmy-Award winning Executive Producer Carla Pennington has been with “Dr. Phil” since its first season, as has Co-Executive Producer Angie Kraus. “Dr. Phil” was created by Harpo Productions, is produced by Peteski Productions in association with CBS Television Distribution and is distributed by CBS Television Distribution, a unit of CBS Corp.
