CBS ’60 Minutes’ Episode Guide (Oct. 11): President Obama on Situation in Syria, 2016 Politics

“60 Minutes” (10/11/15) – President Barack Obama answers questions about the situation in Syria and Russia’s involvement there in an interview with Steve Kroft to be broadcast on “60 Minutes,” tonight Oct. 11 (7:30-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Other topics the President addresses include the investigation into presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s email server and whether his vice president, Joseph Biden, will enter the presidential race.

President Vladimir Putin’s military mission in Syria is a sign of Russia’s weakness, not a show of its leadership, says President Obama. Russia has been forced to prop up a teetering Assad regime, he maintains, Russia’s only ally in the region.

Obama speaks at length to Kroft about the situation in Syria and about domestic politics, including his opinions on Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, whether his vice president, Joe Biden, will run for president, and his take on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The interview will be broadcast on 60 MINUTES, Sunday, Oct. 11 (7:30-8:30 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

“60 Minutes,” the most successful television broadcast in history, began its 46th season on Sept. 29, 2013. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast begun in 1968 is still a hit in 2011, regularly making Nielsen’s Top 10. The average audience for a “60 Minutes” broadcast still dwarfs the biggest audiences drawn by cable news programs.

“60 Minutes” correspondents include Anderson Cooper, Steve Kroft, Sanjay Gupta, Lara Logan, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Charlie Rose, Morley Safer, Bob Simon and Lesley Stahl.
