CBS ’60 Minutes’ Episode Guide (Aug. 3): China’s Real Estate Bubble; Multi-Million Dollar Art Scam

The following are the listings of investigative reports set to air on tonight’s (August 3, 2014) episode of “60 Minutes,” airing from 7:00-8:00PM EST on CBS:

China’s Real Estate Bubble – Real estate, especially residential, has been one of the driving forces of the hot Chinese economy. But now a bubble has been created that could lead to a debt crisis many fear could bring the world’s second largest economy to a standstill. Lesley Stahl reports. Shachar Bar-On is the producer.

The Con Man – Wolfgang Beltracchi fooled the experts for decades in an art scam that netted him and his partners millions of dollars. Many art experts acknowledge he is the most successful art forger in this and, perhaps, any other time in history. Bob Simon reports. Katherine Davis is the producer.

Cajun Ketchup – Hot sauce, now ubiquitous in the U.S. and under so many brand names they’re hard to keep up with, began with just one name – Tabasco – 146 years ago on a small island in Louisiana’s Cajun Country. Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports. Sumi Aggarwal is the producer.

“60 Minutes,” the most successful television broadcast in history, began its 46th season on Sept. 29, 2013. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast begun in 1968 is still a hit in 2011, regularly making Nielsen’s Top 10. The average audience for a “60 Minutes” broadcast still dwarfs the biggest audiences drawn by cable news programs.

“60 Minutes” correspondents include Anderson Cooper, Steve Kroft, Sanjay Gupta, Lara Logan, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Charlie Rose, Morley Safer, Bob Simon and Lesley Stahl.
