CBS ’60 Minutes’ Episode Guide (Aug. 31): Secrets to Living Past Age 90; ‘Pink Panther’ Thieves

The following are the listings of investigative reports set to air on tonight’s (August 31, 2014) episode of “60 Minutes,” airing from 7:00-8:00PM EST on CBS:

90+ – A landmark study of thousands of members of a retirement community in Southern California is revealing factors that may contribute to living longer. Lesley Stahl reports on the oldest old – people who live to 90 or above. Shari Finkelstein and Jennie Held are the producers. This is a double-length segment.

The Pink Panthers – Using expert planning and military discipline, a loose group of European thieves have stolen $500 million in mostly jewelry and art over 20 years. Police have dubbed them “the Pink Panthers.” Bob Simon reports. Katherine Davis and Sam Hornblower are the producers.

“60 Minutes,” the most successful television broadcast in history, began its 46th season on Sept. 29, 2013. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast begun in 1968 is still a hit in 2011, regularly making Nielsen’s Top 10. The average audience for a “60 Minutes” broadcast still dwarfs the biggest audiences drawn by cable news programs.

“60 Minutes” correspondents include Anderson Cooper, Steve Kroft, Sanjay Gupta, Lara Logan, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Charlie Rose, Morley Safer, Bob Simon and Lesley Stahl.
